Frys B v Frys A
It was a fresh Remembrance Sunday morning and The Fry's Club Girls B team pitch was in good condition for their biggest test of the season so far, a home derby against top of the table unbeaten Fry's Club Girls A team!
Straight from the kick off our B team girls showed the visiting A team that they were going to give it all they had and some! Even though the Fry's A had the Fry's B pined down in their own half for the first five minutes the Fry's B girls held firm in defence and then much to the A teams disbelief mounted several counter attacks of their own!
At around 25 minutes the Fry's A team went ahead with what can only be described as a top drawer goal ! Was this the beginning of the end for The Fry Girls B Team and would as expected in some quarters the flood gates open? In a word NO! they battled on until the whistle blew for half time.
The second half started as the first half had finished with a full on great game of football from both sides! The A team then scored for the second time about 5 minutes into the second half making the score 2-0 to Fry's Club Girls A Team. Well surely that was it for the Fry's B ! they would now roll over? Again in a word NO! as five minutes later they broke out and Amy scored a wonder goal that not only nearly broke the Fry's A goal but put the Fry's B team right back in the game and our B team girls came very close to pinching a draw out of the game! Sadly but not without one hell of a fight from the Fry's B team the final score was, Fry's Club Girls A Team 2, Fry's Club Girls B Team 1.
The Player of the Match for this game was very difficult to pick as all of the players performances were truly outstanding! But pick it we did and Danni was the recipient, due to her fantastic work rate some crucial tackles one of which gave her knock that she had to come off for at the end of the first half, but didn't stop her returning for a top drawer never say die second half! Well done!
